Join us at Howe Street Studios on June 11, 2025, immediately following our AGM for a special presentation by renowned jeweller and educator Peter Keep.

Peter brings nearly 50 years of experience in the trade. Peter will take us on a journey through jewellery history, exploring how the craft has evolved, both for better and worse, over the decades.

The founder of Jewellery Training Solutions, Peter has lived by his passion for preserving traditional skills and helping artisans find their place in today's industry. As an educator, Peter offers invaluable insights for both novice and experienced jewellers and teachers. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, allowing members to tap into Peter's extensive knowledge and experience.

Whether you're curious about historical techniques, industry trends, or career pathways in jewellery making, this is an extraordinary opportunity to hear from a true veteran of the craft.

Members and non-members are eligible to run for board and committee positions. If a nominee is not a current VMAA member, they will be required to become a member if elected.

New board members may serve as members at large or volunteer for additional committees. Board members have a seat at the decision-making table when it comes to governing VMAA and shaping its future trajectory.

Volunteers may have lighter responsibilities throughout the year, save for when events or exhibitions necessitate their attention.

Interested in learning more or submitting a nomination?

Check out our volunteer page for more information about each position, or to apply. We encourage people of all levels of experience, all backgrounds, genders, and abilities to do so.

Coming Soon: Vancouver Metal Arts Hub Study Publications

Ready to launch!

VMAA has been undertaking a study on the feasibility of creating an inclusive, accessible metal arts hub in the Vancouver region. This is an exploration of prospective operational and financial models and preliminary facility plan based on the first community needs assessment that concluded in 2023. The bulk of the project work concluded in fall of 2024; since then, it has been undergoing peer review and a few final rounds of publication polish.

We look forward to sharing the reports with you soon.

With thanks to our project funders:
