The Vancouver Metal Arts Association and Italian Cultural Centre of Vancouver are seeking submissions for a juried metal arts group exhibition for April of 2021 on the theme of

Beaux Arts:
a celebration of the sculptural form in metal

The year 2021 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Charles Marega (1871-1939) the Italian Canadian Sculptor who created the lions on Vancouver’s Lion’s Gate Bridge, among many other significant BC sculptural landmarks. In celebration of Marega’s significant legacy, this exhibition will feature metal artists willing to explore (figuratively and literally) the stylistic theme of Beaux Arts that marked so much of Marega's work.

The Vancouver Metal Arts Association and Craft Council of BC present DISRUPT, a juried group exhibition of artists whose work and creative practices explore and discover new materials, techniques and challenge the status quo. These artists experiment and take risks with ideas and materials, and the exhibit includes pieces with concepts and materials that push the expectations of adornment.

The Craft Council of BC gallery is currently closed to accommodate physical distancing measures. However, the show is now viewable online as a virtual exhibit. It's a whole other experience!
