Monique Huynh

Vice President

Monique Huynh is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. Her formal education started at the University of Manitoba where she obtained a degree in the Faculty of Architecture. It was in this department that she fell in love with graphic design and obtained her Bachelor of Communications Design degree at the University of Emily Carr in Vancouver BC. She worked as a senior graphic designer for social impact company LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics for almost a decade. She eventually left LUSH to pursue long-distance love, raise three sons and focus on freelance graphic design.

Her creative adventures didn’t stop there. After spending most of her artistic focus on the 2D world of design she decided she needed a medium that would allow her to put her design and illustration skills to use while also enabling her to be more tactile. She set out to learn a craft and soon landed on jewelry making. She instantly fell in love with this art form and knew that jewelry design and fabrication was how she wanted to tell her stories.

Currently she is enrolled in her final year of the Jewellery Art and Design program at VCC in Vancouver, BC. She is the recipient of the Craft Council Award in technical excellence and has showcased her first solo exhibit titled “Mythologies Fiercest Females”, at The Craft Council of BC in early 2022.

Monique is passionate about the art and design community in Vancouver, BC. and hopes to contribute her knowledge and expertise as well as her enthusiasm for the metal arts.
