Ingrid Valou

President

Ingrid is an LGBTQ2+ Chinese-Canadian multidisciplinary artist exploring sustainable materials, business and methods in silversmithing. Her emerging work hints at her love of nature and mythology, and her inspiration by slow fashion, capsule wardrobe, and ethical metalsmith movements.

She graduated from UBC in 2012 with a B.A. in anthropology and creative writing, and completed her public relations certificate from SFU in 2015. By day she works as communications specialist for the Vancouver Economic Commission; by nights and weekends, she tinkers at the kitchen table or in her East Van studio, and may be spotted performing in world fusion, indie rock, or video game music bands as a flutist and singer.
