Jill Vickers Kealy

Member At Large

Jill is an Irish jewellery artist based in Vancouver. She graduated with a BA with Honours in Arts and a major in Business Studies and Arts Management from IADT Dun Laoighre in Ireland. Her journey in jewellery art and metalsmithing began upon arrival in Vancouver, and eventually led her to study Jewellery Art and Design from Vancouver Community College. She earned her diploma in 2022 and continues to work towards earning a certification in Gemmology, with the goal of becoming a fellow of the Canadian Gemmological Association.

Jill believes in lifelong learning and exploration, and while on her own journey of learning within the metalsmithing and metal arts world, she noticed many gaps for those trying to go the self-directed route. During her time with VMAA she hopes to support others in bridging these gaps and help develop the metal arts community within the city.

In addition to working as a bench jeweller, she continues to build her own custom hand-crafted jewellery brand Oirea out of her Mount Pleasant studio.
